Any soft-bristled toothbrush works for dogs, but dog-specific varieties
have some
convenient features, such as longer handles and angled heads to reach
into big mouths and scrub large teeth. Or, if your dog objects to the
brush, try nubby finger brushes, which slip over yoru fingertip.
When it comes to toothpaste, your s is off-limits, and your dog wouldn't
like it anyway. Choose a brand made specifically for dogs in a yummy beef,
liver or chicken flavor. For truly resistant pup, consider adding a canine
dental wash to his/her water - no substitue for brushing, but better than
nothing. In addition, to at-home care, schedule regular dental cleanings
with yoru veterinarian.
